We spend so much of our time at work. It’s important that we’re happy.  If we’re not happy,  we’re wasting our days away and changes need to be made. This article and video will help you. At least this is my aim. To help you get from A (feeling awful about your job) to B (loving your work).

So How Can A Few Positive Affirmations Help Me With Loving My Work?

Affirmations are powerful statements that are set in the present moment. They can help you to shift from feeling negative about a certain situation, to feeling positive  and uplifted and wanting to make a change.  Let me give you an example.

A few years back I went through a rough time in my life where everything seemed to be falling apart; my job, my health, my relationships… everything. I believe I had hit rock bottom.

At the time, I watched the movie “The Secret” and heard so much about positive affirmations and the importance of having a subliminal messagingpositive mindset… and that as the old cliched saying goes “If you see it and believe it, you can achieve it.” I know it’s so cliched it’s not funny – but, it works!

I had no where else to turn. I had to give them a try. I started off by writing positive affirmations and pinning them up on walls around my house. “Every day in every way I’m getting better and better” This was a favorite of mine.

At first I didn’t believe them. I just kept reading them and saying them out loud like a parrot. Then I heard that affirmations work better when connected to your emotion. So I started to say them with ‘feeling.’

Guess what? As I began to say them with feeling, I began to believe them. I began to get excited by them.  The more excited I got saying them, the more energized I became and the more elevated my life became.

In short, I began the process or ‘re-wiring’ my neural pathways, and changing my old negative programs.  My life began to change for the better.

My health picked up, a new and amazing job had started. I was on the rise.

Be Careful What You Wish For

I was tired of my old job. Every morning as I was walking to the office, I pictured myself working way up in one of the HUGE highrise buildings. I don’t know why, but I always wanted an office with a view. I put on my iPod and listened to affirmations where I was loving my work and having the job of my dreams.

positive messages for workNeedless to say, within six months of doing this I was offered the job of a lifetime; and you guessed it… it was  way up high! 36,000 feet high to be exact! I got the job as a Cabin Crew member working for Virgin Airways.

I had never dreamed of flying to be honest. I just applied. I thought I had no chance. But I gave it my best shot.

Here I was, walking around my “office” selling food and drinks and making sure customers were safe. It was an awesome challenge for me and it gave me a new lease on life. I was living what felt like a dream.

Be careful what you wish for. You might just get it.

So Why Do We Need Subliminal Messages?

Subliminal affirmations work because our conscious mind cannot judge them. They enter straight into our subconscious mind and we have no time to push them away or think about them. Do Positive Affirmations Really Work?

This blog about affirmations is purely from MY experience only. I am not wanting to vouch for others – I just want to share with you my experiences about affirmations and thinking positively.

Come with me as I take you back to 2005 where my life took an ‘off track turn’ and I hit rock bottom. I don’t really want to go into exactly all that happened, but I can tell you this.

At the time it was traumatic and life changing as well. It was the most difficult times I’ve experienced in my 47 years on this great planet.

The most difficult time, yet at the same time, the best learning curves ever!  To cut a long story short I had two choices.

To continue on with living the life I had been living and end up dead, or to change my mindset and actions and begin again a beautiful new life.

I chose the latter.

My First Experiences With Positive Affirmations

I remember as a school kid hearing about affirmations from a teacher on a bus excursion. At the time, they sounded like they were magical things that if you said a few words a few times, things would magically appear before me.

Ha! I was wrong… yet ins some ways, I was hearing a new way of life that is very possible.

It wasn’t until my late 30’s that I really put positive affirmations to the test.  I needed to use them.  I was given a diagnosis of an illness that could go one way or the other.

I was not going to be beaten here. And so, my positive thoughts and affirmations began.

Each day I would place some affirmations on my ipod and also pin them up in my room so I could see them on a daily basis. Here are some of my favorites;

  • Every day in every way I’m getting better and better
  • I am healthy, wealthy and wise
  • I love my life
  • Life brings me all that I’ve ever needed and desired
  • I’m feeling great on the inside and looking great on the outside
  • My life is the best it’s ever been

These were affirmations I recorded and put on my ipod. Some of them were recorded subliminally and some of them had my voice on them so I could hear them. I used a program called MINDZOOM and you can read all about that program here.

As I was walking my dogs on the beach, I would be saying these affirmations out loud (No one was around, and even if they were, tough luck – I was on a mission!!!).

At first, I did not believe them, however as the days went by, I grew more and more passionate about the affirmations. I would even speak them out LOUDLY as I walked along the beach, and with much passion too.

I think saying affirmations with much passion and emotion makes them work wonders; as it evokes feelings in you and the feelings helped me to change and have new expectations.

Now, I must tell you here that affirmations do not simply work over night.

You must remember that years of negative programming need to be replaced with a positive mindset and a new way of thinking positively.

It took probably two years of repeating my “mantras” over and over again before I could finally say that I was back on track.

I understand that two years sounds like a long time.

But in the big scheme of things, it’s a blink of an eye. And as I told you  previously, I was in no position to take the other option.

I wanted life and I wanted to live in a more  fruitful, positive way.  Also remember that I was changing about 30 years of negative self talk – so two years does not seem so bad after all!

So Where Did The Affirmations And Positive Thinking Lead Me?

Fast track about 7 years now… My life has unlimited abundance, my health is great, I am self employed and operate a wonderful healing site called “Relax Me Online.” All in all, I am blessed and so happy to have the life I have.

I was only just peeling off my walls the other day affirmations that I had put up 7-8 years ago. It was kind of funny taking them down, as what I was taking down was exactly how my life is today. I feel empowered, blessed and enriched beyond my wildest dreams.

Limit the time that you spend reading the paper or watching the news if current events seem to trigger your anxiety.

Make daily goals and do whatever is necessary to achieve them throughout the day. This can help you focus and stave off negative feelings. This will allow you to think about more constructive thoughts.

Make a habit of staying in the moment. A bad habit that many people with anxiety have is to focus on what they have to do in the past or ruminating on the past.

Reduce your anxiety by focusing on what you’re currently doing and do not consider anything else.

so here is the run down… This is an awesome , super powerful program that I recommend, however, if you have no patience and you just want to learn in 2 minutes, I personally would not go for this one, but go for the Mind Zoom.  It might be that I am just a slow learner when it comes to technology, I’m not sure 🙂  But either way, both of them are the best on the market in my opinion. If I did have to choose, I would choose the latter – IF you are prepared to learn it and take the time!

So, you have not got the money to purchase a software program such as the above. No need to despair! You can still do it on a regular recording (pc) at home. Here’s how:

  • Open your favourite recording program
  • Select 2 tracks
  • On the first track put your favourite music on. Use relaxing music if you want to fall asleep to the subliminal messages. If you want to do exercises or feel motivated then select inspiring music that is uplifting
  • Record on track 2 your affirmations. Please remember to keep the affirmations in the PRESENT TENSE and to keep them positive.
  • Leave about a 10 second gap between each affirmation to allow it to sink into your subconscious mind. For a 30 minute recording I would only add about 10-20 affirmations, and then simply repeat the same ones throughout the entire recording.
  • The final step is to pop on some headphones and now you need to bring the recorded voice affirmations down to an almost inaudible level. In other words, so you almost cannot hear  the affirmations present. Don’t be concerned with this. Your subconscious mind over time will take these in.
  • BINGO! You have your first subliminal sound affirmation recording.
